Justin Olsen, DDS is a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. His journey into dentistry began after meeting several dentists who inspired him with their ability to combine science, precision, and genuine care for others.
Dr. Olsen earned his bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship from Utah State University (Go Aggies!) before attending the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at the University of Southern California. Drawn to the unique blend of medicine, surgery, and patient interaction, he went on to specialize in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery while proudly serving in the U.S. Army at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
During his active-duty service, Dr. Olsen treated a wide range of complex surgical cases, from facial reconstruction and corrective jaw surgery to performing tracheostomies for trauma patients requiring long-term care. His experience in a military medical setting strengthened his surgical expertise and deepened his commitment to delivering the highest standard of care to every patient.
After completing his residency, Dr. Olsen relocated to San Antonio, where he served as a mentor to Army and Air Force residents in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Brooke Army Medical Center, a Level 1 trauma facility. There, he continued refining his skills in oral and facial reconstruction and advanced implant procedures, including All-on-4® treatments utilizing remote anchorage techniques.
Dr. Olsen and his wife of more than 20 years, Christina, met in high school and together have four children. He is originally from the mountains of Utah and enjoys spending time outdoors. When he’s not seeing patients at his clinic or in the hospital, he can be found exploring in his 4×4 on a dirt road looking for a place to fish or preparing to ski down a remote slope.
After several years in private practice, Dr. Olsen founded Mission Oral Surgery and Implant Center to bring his extensive experience and compassionate approach to patients across San Antonio. He provides a wide range of experience in treating a variety of patients. He and his team strive to provide expert care in an individualized manner.
